Meet Professor Finn

We’re excited to introduce you to one of our newer faculty members, Sarah Finn. Professor Finn holds a Masters in Anthropology from California State University, Sacramento and a BA in Behavioral Science, Concordia University. She and her husband, Nathan, live in Roseville, CA and serve regularly alongside another one of our professors that some of you may know, Mark Beuving, at Creekside Church in Rocklin, CA. In addition to her work with us, she also volunteers as a special needs coordinator for her church and has worked as a therapist for students with autism within her local school district.
Professor Finn has been integral to helping us develop our dual-degree program, bringing the expertise and experience of an anthropologist to the table (which was lacking amongst our staff of Bible and theology nerds). She’s already been a great blessing to her students in Worldview, Gospel & Culture, and Foundations, and we’re thrilled about the new classes she’s developing.
“I am excited about working with students who are on a wide variety of paths on their education and vocational journeys. Eternity’s online format allows for a student body that’s unlike anything I’ve worked with before. The accessibility of Distance Education means fewer boundaries between generations, socioeconomic situations, and cultural worldviews. I’ve had classes that were truly global— with students in my state, across the country, and clear on the other side of the world—all in one virtual classroom.
The courses I teach revolve around culture and humanity, so having such a wide variety of perspectives is a major asset in our discussions. It elevates everything, for myself as a teacher, and for my students as well.
My favorite moments teaching are the ones in between the active teaching, when I get to see my students encouraging each other, thoughtfully answering each other’s questions, or graciously challenging one another— this is a college, yes, but in those moments I am reminded that we are also the Church, the body of Christ. We build each other up in love, and push each other forward, all for the Gospel. It’s such an enormous joy to watch that happen and an honor to be a part of it.”
Thanks so much for your prayers and continued support!
